In 1985 Canon USA started marketing a unique semi-PC compatible computer called the TX50. At the same time a Florida county school system decided to use it as the Point of Sale device for its federally funded school lunch program. A small group of electronic/computer technicians and programmers created a computer program for just that purpose called REGIPROG, a program included in Canon's Third-Party vendor list. While the county wanted the program, they also had rules about purchasing only from companies not from individuals thus ADJ Computer Consultants was born. In the beginning the company specialized in creating custom applications for heating & a/c companies, exterminators, auto detailers, realtors, financial planners, insurance agents, attorneys, Multi-Level Marketing companies and other vertical markets so they could track inventory, sales and client.
Eventually as the personal computer industry matured and potential clients would make due with the plethura of off-the-shelf programs such as DacEasy, Pacioli, MSMoney, Peachtree, and Quickbooks, ADJ's emphasis shifted to developing POS systems, marrying cash registers to computers, and teaching clients to use the myriad of programs sold in computer stores located on every block. ADJ augmented their services by troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
Gradually it seemed as though everyone knew a friend or relative who built or repaired computers, but meanwhile as the Internet became more of a factor in the every day functioning of businesses, the company found much of its time consumed by writing those background programs which magically seem to make things happen on a web site but are never seen by the visitors. It soon became apparent that a separate company would best serve the needs of its clients who wanted to take advantage of the opportunities which the explosive growth of the Internet offered.
Clients need more than programing and technical skills to insure success on the World Wide Web. So the skills of another Orlando, Florida company called PHA, Inc. and other sources of expertise in marketing and promotions were procurred. PHA, Inc. was founded in 1972. The objective of the company was to take floundering, failing businesses on the brink of bankruptcy and turn them around, into successful ones. They accomplished those goals by finding new investors for the client and bolstering the client's revenues through increasing sales via a concerted campaign of advertising and promotion, it sometimes required finding a unique niche for the client, or introducing affiliate businesses which complemented their own products or services with whom they could network.
In 1999 the company decided to move in new directions, both as a corporate identity and in location. Since a great number of our clients were located in the Northeastern part of the country and the majority of our work now involved Internet services exclusively we began a new company in Ohio. About this time joining this fledgling group as our executive account manager was a dynamic leader whose responsibilities included managing and marketing for various national firms within the transportation industry. The spell was cast and from thus emerged Webpage Sorcery where We Put The Magic In Your Webpages.
A vital part of everyone's website is the hosting company where the web pages reside. The features and permissions which are granted to the web host client can vary, and can in fact make or break a website. Time after time, we were handicapped by clients' web hosts which were very limited in nature, or were slow and lax in responding to problems, and sometimes seemed to be offline more often than online. Webpage Sorcery decided that we needed to do something about that and so in January of 2002, Webpage Sorcery added website hosting to its repertorie.
